It is believed that Bowen therapy may reset the body to heal itself by performing moves around joint proprioceptors, fascia, moves at the origin, insertion or belly of the muscle where receptors are located, stimulating the immune system by activating lymphatic drainage and by detoxification at a cellular level. Bowen therapy has been practiced on humans (all ages) as well as animals. This technique was developed by Thomas Bowen in Geelong in 1950s. He believed that certain moves on the body had particular effects in alleviating human suffering. He performed 13,000 treatments per year in his busy clinic.

Each client will be assessed and recommended consults as required on an individual basis. Some clients may need 2-3 consultations while others may require a series of treatments and support over time. The duration of the treatment is generally based on the severity of the individual’s condition and time required to allow the body to make a change.
